Several shallow soft slabs and sluffs seen in the valley. However, one slab appeared deeper than the others and could be suspect for breaking in a weak layer under the storm snow. See photo.  [ Read More ]

Toured up the cat track path from nordic parking lot. Ascended looker’s right ridge past CPG powder hut and onto tree line. Picked our way down through benched terrain how readily the storm snow wanted to move. Cat track not in yet, many rocks and sticks on the descent.  [ Read More ]

Standard route up ragged top to the moraine at 2400′. Thin coverage overall with lots of foliage poking up through the snow. Early season conditions exist. We found a few tasty turns up high but the ski quality was low.  [ Read More ]
