Toured up the cat track path from nordic parking lot. Ascended looker’s right ridge past CPG powder hut and onto tree line. Picked our way down through benched terrain how readily the storm snow wanted to move. Cat track not in yet, many rocks and sticks on the descent.

Numerous soft slab avalanches triggered in new storm snow throughout the day. This particular one popped from about 100 feet away and seemed to fail within the storm snow layer. Small slide showed possibility of stepping down into the remainder of storm snow.

Localized shooting cracking throughout the day on all aspects. Leeward aspects had propagating cracks that began to fail within storm snow as day continued.
No wind, fairly warm at vehicles. Roughly 30 degrees. Wind picked up around 11 am. Sustained moderate wind out of the east. Plenty strong to transport and carry already deposited snow.
