Avalanche risk The Bottom Line

The 2014/2015 winter season is on the doorstep!!

Snow is beginning to dust the mountains and accumulate in parts of the upper elevations.

The Avalanche Center will start to gear up during the later part of October. In the meantime, the observation page is ALWAYS open for business. If you are out and about send us a photo, let us know how much snow is out there,  etc  HERE.

Events coming up:

October 17th:    “Days Of My Youth” ski movie !! Two shows, 7 and 9pm – details HERE.

November 7th:    Southcentral Alaska Avalanche Workshop. A gathering of snow professionals for a day of learning, presentation, discussion and networking: akavalancheworkshop.org

November 8th – 10th:  Alaska Winter Weather Forecasting Course. An  amazing, and intense, mountain weather course taught by a former Alaska avalanche forecaster and current mountain meteorologist Jim Woodmencey!    http://alaskaavalanche.com/

November 13th:  Join F-CNFAIC for our 6th Annual Fundraiser featuring Luc Mehl! Details HERE.

November 20th:  Winter Project World Premiere!!

Remember, if there is enough snow to play on, there is enough snow to slide.
