Driving east along Turnagain Arm from Indian I noticed two well defined chutes that had soil-colored debris mixed in with snow that were recent. I was in a hurry so did not glass the source. The chutes that blocked the railroad (last season?) did NOT appear to have any recent debris and were snowfall covered.  [ Read More ]

Toured up to 2800′ on the east aspect of Raggedtop. Dug snowpits at 2500′ and 1500′ and found buried weak layers about a foot deep in both locations. A group of 3 skiers started from Crow Creek Trailhead at 11:00 am, cold and clear at the start of the tour.
