Skied cat track to cabin. Then toured the Notch ridge east, continued along ridge to north and then west and back to cabin. With all the wind reports we elected to stay on the ridge for a tour/route finding day. Lots of evidence of the recent wind on the snow surface but no red flags  [ Read More ]

Today we skinned up ragged mountain’s E shoulder, we found wind effect above treeline which varied from 1/4″ to 3″ slabs. We had several collapses and got one large collapse with shooting cracks that shot about 50 ft uphill of us at about 1500ft just as we got above treeline.  [ Read More ]
