Got into upper virgin creek basin Feb-10, winded snow throughout drainage. Wavy pow in the lowers. Active transport started around noon on the ridge lines.  [ Read More ]

Sunday stroll in the valley, observed spiky ice needles on alders and hemlocks. Crystal cacti, if you will. Result of ice fog? No surface hoar developing on snow surface, interestingly. Cacti spines seen from about 1,000’-1,800’. Just nature being neat!  [ Read More ]

We flew up Twentymile River in the morning of 2/2 and noticed two large crowns on east-facing aspect, far back Blueberry Hill (see pin in map for location). Crowns look a bit filled in.
