Toured from the north-ish end of the lake up to treeline, dug a pit, and soaked in the sunshine!

Snow surface

10-20cm of dry pow on a firm crust layer. Variable depending on wind effect.

Snowpack

Pit dug at 2,000’, South aspect, 26 degree slope, deposition zone, HS 290cm.
Main feature of interest in the top 100cm of snowpack was a 3mm ice layer approx 20cm deep.
CT12 & CT16, both Q2 on this layer.
