Toured straight up Bertha Cr. found 3″ of fresh light snow at the road. At roughly 2000 found 0-3′ of supportable crust under the new snow. At 3000′ found more consolidated snow underneath 0-10″ in depth. Lots of wind transport had occurred. I ascended a 35-40 degree SW facing loaded gully and dug a CT and ECT at 3700. The crust under the 4″ of low density new snow was dense enough to make kicking in toe holds a bit difficult in snowboard boots. Some recent sloughing of the new snow was observed in N facing couloirs on the other side of the drainage. There were a few wind slabs forming at the ridge top up to 3′ thick. Riding conditions were dust on crust.

3-4" Dust on crust
SW slope at 3700': HS was 90cm. CT 14 resistant planar about 10cms beneath the surface. The fracture plane was a 0.5 cm thick ice crust. My ECT score was ECTP23 resistant planar. The fracture plane was 45cm below the surface on a 3cm thick ice crust. The facets on this fracture plane appeared to be rounding.
