Observation: Turnagain

Route & General Observations

Left the parking lot at 11:30, climbed the motorized up-track without issue, dropped into main bowl and rode for a couple hours. Noticed some recent slides in the area so we pretty much stayed around the base of main bowl.

Observer Comments

The backside of Seattle Ridge (going into Main Bowl) had slid, looked fairly recent.

When heading out for the day, saw that lookers left of the motorized up-track had slid since noon. Snow surface conditions seemed pretty unstable.

Weather

Low 50's and interment sun at 11:00 am, wind on the ridge top, weather transitioned into snow flurries and dense fog by 4:30 pm ~40F.

Snow surface

Ridge top had a wind crust, which post-holed when walking over. Snow in main bowl felt wet and heavy, seemed stable.

Snowpack

Good snow coverage, minimal bare spots.
