Route & General Observations

16″ – 20″ snowpack found from the parking lot to the ridge top. Large (1+”)surface hoar found in tact
at 1000′ growing smaller, though still present at 2400′.

Beautiful day to be out touring so long as expectations for powder skiing are low! Sunshine and
warmer temps as you gain in elevation. Very little wind throughout the day meant we did not observe any slabs building today.

Our snowpack continues to deteriorate under this prolonged high pressure system, morphing into
one big unconsolidated weak layer. Things are going to change very quickly with the right input
(significant wind or snow). Possible weather change coming next week… Fingers crossed!
