Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) and Alaska Mining and Diving Supply
(AMDS) Donate New Ski Doo Snowmachine to Friends of the Chugach National Forest
Avalanche Information Center for 2012-13 winter season
Sled to be presented tomorrow Saturday, December 14 and will support Chugach
National Forest Avalanche Information Center (CNFAIC) forecasters

Anchorage, Alaska – This Saturday, December 14, The Friends of the Chugach
National Forest Avalanche Center will gather at the Turnagain Pass rest area on
the Chugach National Forest at 11am to accept the donation of brand new Ski Doo
snowmachine from BRP and AMDS.

The 2013 Ski Doo REV-XM 800cc snowmachine comes to the Friends group through a
generous loaner program by BRP and AMDS. As a long time supporter of the
avalanche center, AMDS recommended the Friends of the Chugach National Forest
Avalanche Information Center as a worthy recipient of this machine to benefit
the entire backcountry community.

Forecasting avalanches requires that forecasters travel deep into backcountry
terrain to make snow stability assessments. This generous contribution will
assist CNFAIC forecasters in accessing remote areas to assess the snowpack
through regional and elevational changes.

The Friends group, on behalf of the CNFAIC would like to extend a huge thank you
to BRP and Alaska Mining and Diving for offering this opportunity.

contribute to the educational and scientific activities provided for the public
