Skiers and snowmachiners- Please be aware there is a habituated (blond-colored)
brown bear still on the loose in the Placer/ Turnagain/ Johnson Pass area. This
2 year-old female cub escaped from the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
nearly two weeks ago and has yet to be located.
This bear is habituated to humans and human food. Fresh bear tracks were
observed on Tuesday, 4/17 in the Turnagain Pass area by skiers. If you see this
bear, or fresh sign please contact ADF&G, AWCC or the State Troopers as soon as
possible.
