Route & General Observations

Common moto uptrack to the tree line. Snow quality and wind effect seemed to get worse with elevation. Elected to stay off the ridge today. Followed the powerline line trail searching for wind sheltered areas.

Shooting cracks and wind slab release on low angle test slope. Also noted areas of hollow sounding snow.

Weather

Clear, cold & windy! 10F and ~20 mph sustained. Plumes off Seattle Creek headwall.

Snow surface

The ~4” of fresh snow was redistributed by overnight winds. Mix of polished up rain crust and areas of drift pockets & wind slabs. Overall pretty bad.
