Route & General Observations

There is a hefty sun crust forming at the lower elevations that is awful to ski
on. It disappears just below treeline and is primarily on West facing and South
facing slopes. The snow on the North side of tri tip is fantastic for skiing. A
few buried layers of crust sandwiches. I also skied all the way deep on Tenderfoot
Ridge to the headwaters of Tenderfoot creek. Numerous slabs occurring right below
cornices. I skied out around 2 p.m. and the snow was greatly sun affected and
mushy by then with plenty of sun balls and small wet looses sluffs coming from my
traverse.
