Toured up standard Tincan uptrack to Hippy Bowl and down to the creek, back up for a couple laps on Common and CFR. Everything except the ridge was soft by mid day. Only suncrust/wind board was on CFR uptrack.
At start of day we intentionally kicked off a 10″ slab on a west facing steep convexity just below treeline. Failed very easily on a firm bed surface. Could easily feel the density of the snow increase in the sensitive area.
Saw what looked like a similar, but larger, day old slide just above treeline. Same thickness, failure surface, and steep convexity on a shady West slope.
At Hippy Bowl we watched a skier (unintentionally?) drop multiple backcountry bombs, one as big as a VW Bug, on the south face below with no result.
Over killer day! Just had to watch out for the not-quite-healed wind slabs in very specific areas.
