Route & General Observations

Tincan trees, moderate to heavy snow fall though out the day. No whomping or cracking observed through out our tour. Winds gusting mid 20’s at times from the SE, otherwise calm. LOTS OF NEW SNOW! So much you could barely make a turn without getting stuck. Had to ride in tracks to make it to the bottom.

Broke while checking how reactive the new snow layer was. Skier gave a slash near convex of slope. Slab broke at a 45 degree angle down slope for about 20ft before jagging inward. Crown was around 12” to 16” deep. Slide ran about 100ft. Group was safe and well away from slide path. Consensus- new storm layer VERY reactive!
