I trigged a small storm slab on the leeward side of a small convex feature. It was pretty shallow and didn't run very far. It broke just behind me and I skied back on top of the convexity. No one was buried or carried by the slide.
Recent Avalanches? | Yes |
Collapsing (Whumphing)? | No |
Cracking (Shooting cracks)? | Yes |
We didn't observe any other slides. We did see a few small shootings cracks along our skin track, the largest was about 2'. The cracks were all higher on the skin track in areas where it was windier.
Snowing pretty hard, maybe 1.5" / hour. Blowing 15+ mph from Hamburger Hill up to our high point of 2200'.
6" or so of new snow all over when we left, around 12:30. The snow was a bit wind affected in areas not protected by trees.
