Group heard about 10 whumpfs today from 1000' to 2100' - were most distinct and loud in the flats beside parking lot. A few collapses - most distinct around 2500' in the rollers under Tincan Common Bowl. Personally set off 1 small 20' x 10' slide on a steep unsupported west facing roller at 1900'.
Surprisingly cloud free, sunny, apprx 30 degrees.
New light snow apprx 3" @ 1000' & 4" @ 2200' (in addition to 16" storm snow). Recent snow depth increased & dried with elevation, to apprx 2400' where the new snow depth markedly decreased from about 20" to around 12". The layer underneath the storm snow in the Alpine was notably firmer than below Alpine.
A group near us yielded an ECT 18 and 13 @ 2200' on a west aspect w/ low quality sheer.
