Recent wind slabs - 4-8" thick by midday - were cracking well below treeline in open areas, the result of west and southwest winds.

Winds light from the West and Southwest, gusting Moderate to Strong at treeline. Open areas well below treeline were seeing moderate amounts of snow transport. Temps in the 20s, broken skies.

Snow surface

Wind affect was obvious in open areas surrounded by trees down to ~1500'; small slabs were present on more northerly aspects in Tincan Trees. Raised tracks were obvious in the common bowl by midday, with a large amount of transport off neighboring peaks and ridgelines.
