Weather & Snow Characteristics

Weather

28 degrees, parking lot @ 945, light snow.
31 degrees, parking lot @ 245, light to moderate snow. Maybe snowed an inch during tour.
A few gusts made for snow transport at tree line and alpine. Didn't see anything sustained. Snow seemed more steady around 1:00 then lightened up. Snow seemed heavier on the north side of the pass by eddies.

Snow surface

Faceted snow surface, small wind effect but didn't see any wind slabs forming at tree line and below.

Snowpack

Pit at 2300', HS 85cm, NNE aspect, 20 degree slope.
CT14RP 23cm below surface @ fist to 4finger interface. ECTN21 BRK initiated 35cm below surface. Observed sluffing on a small rollover.
