Observation: Turnagain

Route: Hiked up to treeline and skied a couple of laps in the trees.

Recent avalanche activity: No activity observed.

Weather: Started off sunny but the clouds moved in quickly around 3 pm. Just a
breeze of wind at the parking lot, light-moderate wind at treeline from S/SE.

Snowpack: 1-2″ pen hard crust up to 1800′ which got a bit softer and turned into
very nice powder at 2400′. Patchy snowcover above treeline with some very wind
affected areas. Observed one ski track from the Tincan summit as we came up for
the second lap – no avalanche, but analyzing the ski tracks, it looked like the
person could have felt some instability in the snow.

Ski conditions: Snow quality improved a lot further north on Tincan.
