Route & General Observations

Started in the Center Ridge parking lot and ventured north east through some trees, popping out near the Tincan skin track with the sole purpose of spending some time in the forest and looking at some snow in a pit. Caught some sunshine before the clouds and the snow rolled in.

Weather

12:30 - Scattered skies, no wind, no precip
15:30 - Overcast skies, no wind, light/moderate snow

Snow surface

Progressed from bulletproof ice at the parking lot to a breakable 1-2" crust around 1000 ft. On the way down - enjoyed maybe 2 turns from my pit at 1600' before going back to fearing for my ACL's.

Snowpack

Snow pit activities revealed a 5 cm thick, pencil hard crust near surface with faceted snow in various stages of rounding below.

Test Results: Nothing remarkable - CT16 BRK down 15 cm right below the 5 cm crust on rounding facets. ECTX.
