Standard uptrack to Tincan trees. Obscured skies. Light precip with little accumulation. Winds built thru day. Temps steady from while touring. No surface instabilities noted. Quick Pit did not yield any propagation on the facet layer found 70cm from surface.

The avalanche Trip mentions is a snowed over glide crack. It looks a lot like a slab avalanche.

Avalanche Details

Road observation on way to Tincan Parking. Noted either new avalanche or a known glide crack? (partial drifted) at approximately 2000ft elevation on the skiers left ridge of tincan treees common.

Obscured skies. Light precip with little accumulation. Winds built thru day. Temps steady from while touring.

Snow surface

Powder and wind blown powder.
Around 4-5” new snow since yesterday.

Snowpack

Dug a quick pit. Pit was dug at approximately 2000ft on on Northwest aspect slope. Slope angle in mid-20's. Found the facet layer 70cm from surface. Test results: ECTX and PST 95/100 END on the facet layer 70cm below surface.
