AAS Level 2 class was looking for targeted information on the deep slab problem. Since we had plenty
shoveling power in the group, we conducted Propagation Saw Test at the treeline at 2200′ at NNW aspect
at 28 deg slope.
Results: PST 40/290 End @ 40cm from ground on 2 mm facets (just below the dust layer). HS 215cm.
This basal weak layer has definitely propagation propensity if it gets triggered.
We did not find the melt form layer midpack at this elevation, but found it at 1800′.
