Went for a day of skiing on Tincan to assess whether the holy trinity of skiing (snow, stability, weather) aligned to step out into steeper terrain.
We hope the stability gods look favorably upon the submission of this report and grant us further safe passage in the mountains.

Quality. ~6-12" of incohesive light pow on top of soft layers with increasing density. Minimal wind effect except within 20' of ridgelines.
Later in the day, sun-exposed, lower elevation slopes were beginning to consolidate from sun exposure.
We dug 200' below the top of Tincan Commons. Just by observation, a layer of surface hoar (presumed to be from 1/10) was visible 65cm down. Otherwise there were no other notable layers.
ETCN14 @ 25cm down, progressive collapse/slab deformation at the new snow interface.
No reactivity on the 1/10 surface hoar layer even when removing all but 20cm on top of it and giving it extra credit hits from the shoulder.
2/3 of the column did fail at the layer 65cm down when prying the column.
