Glide avalanches: entire snowpack failing to the ground leaving a brown patch and swath of debris.
Observed new glide releases on Seattle Ridge, S face of Wolverine, Cornbiscuit and in the Skookum drainage. Glide cracks appear to have grown in many locations.
I did not get a good photo of the Cornbiscuit glide cracks, however the looker's right released and the looker's left grew significantly since Sunday.
Broken skies clearing throughout the day
No precipitation
Temps, low 30Fs @ 1000', mid 20Fs at 3000'
Winds: ENE 10-20 mph, gusty around 3:30 pm with plumes along ridge lines
1000'-1500' 2 cm rain crust over moist snow
1500'-1800' .5 cm drizzle crust over dry snow
1800'-2200' 4-6" settled storm snow
2200-3200' 4-6", settled storm snow, wind crust
Hand pits showed good bonding between the new snow and older surfaces. Very minor cracking along wind loaded ridges. Visible wind effect on snow surface. Test slopes produced no results.
