Route & General Observations

Groups split up for snow pack observations. Two groups up Tin Can backdoor to about 1750 ft and one group up Center Ridge to about 1300 ft. No notable test results.

Weather

Overcast skies, moderate to warm temps, lightly snowing through most of the afternoon.

Snow surface

4 inches of light fluffy on top of rain crust.

Snowpack

Light snow on the surface, with an ice crust below. BSH down 50cm in the Center Ridge pit. Various crusts. January facets appear to be rounding, 1F hard and well bonded but slightly weaker at higher elevations. Generally stable snowpack.

No notable formal test results CTN, EXCTX, BSH release down 50cm on overdrive for ECT.
