Plenty of settling as the first group on the ridge. Jumped on a few rollovers and weren’t able to get
anything to move–just a lot of deep, unnerving sounds. Second run, ski cut a rollover below the Common
Bowl and got it to run a bit with a much larger propagation. An estimated 60 meters across with a 40
meter vertical, the snow stopping as soon as the terrain leveled off. The crown was roughly 20-30 cm
deep. After run three, we watched a skier come off of CFR, skier’s right ridge of Common Bowl, and get
caught in a little something that took him or her for a bit of a ride. From where we were at tree line, it
looked like a much larger crown than the one we managed with the ski cut. Could not tell the actual size
of the sluff/slide.
