Stayed below tree line at Tin Can
Heard one large ‘whoomph’ while breaking trail up the normal skin track – near
the top of the trees. Did not see any avalanche activity (but limited
visibility). Hand pit on W facing, about 25 degree slope did not show much
activity – some breaking at the surface from yesterday (at ~1 foot deep).
Isolated snow showers from about 10:30 until about 3pm when steady snow. Wet
snow, easy to pack down. The crust from Wednesday was covered with a heavy
dense foot of snow from last night. We had occasional gusts near tree line,
but in general little wind.
