Observer Comments

Didn't see any obvious sign of current instability. Saw an old 1-3' slab avalanche in a gully off Tincan Proper, probably from the storm.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

About 3" of new light dry snow, broken skies, fog in the valley, -9 celcius, no wind.

Snow surface

Slightly wind effected on ridgelines. Tracks further skiers right in Tincan Common were filled in, whereas skiers left tracks were not.

Snowpack

No formal tests. Knocked down a few cornices, causing sloughing. Skied a south facing line, about 12" of ski penetration. Sloughs ran fast enough to cause a powder cloud. Smoked a couple rocks on the way down, with no result.
