Standard approach up Tincan from the parking lot. ~ 20 cm of new snow a the parking lot. Ski quality: very excellent

Weather

high clouds, calm wind, temps -5*C

Snow surface

generally right side up, with low density snow at the surface. Noted surface hoar developing at 2200 ft.

Snowpack

Pit @ 2300 ft, N aspect, 32* slope, hs= 1.2 m

CT25 on 4 finger/fist hard layer 80cm from surface. Not repeatable in extended column test: ECTX. ~5cm of well developed basal facets which were not moist(fell apart when squeezed into ball) although snow above before the new snow interface was moist.
