Route & General Observations

This picture is very poor quality because the light was very
flat, but Lisa and I got a break in the weather at Turnagain Pass
today Monday 2/15/2010 to see some of the natural avalanche
activity. We saw new natural avalanches on both sides of the
highway at Turnagain Pass.

There are actually 2 seperate avalanches in this photo, but the
larger one is most visible. This natural avalanche probably
happened during the height of the storm Sunday night.

This avalanche is located directly underneath the “viewpoint”
part of the skintrack up Tincan just before the final push up to
the top of Tincan Common. It happened at about 2500′.
