Route & General Observations

We used standard up track towards the knob. Key observation was the lack of natural avalanche activity! Also the warm and calm weather.

Weather

Mild temps in the low 20s F. Calm winds with the sun peaking through occasional the overcast to broken skies. No new snow.

Snow surface

A variety of chalky/soft snow (5-15”) to scoured melt-freeze crust.

Snowpack

5-10” thick winds slab/IF showed moderate to high trigger likelihood on CT and ECT tests..

Multiple ECT and PST showed propagation propensity down 16-24” on facets. Of note, these scores are from ~50% of 8 pits in close proximity.
