Route & General Observations

Toured up to 2900′. dug at 2900 and 2100′. Good storm day skiing.

Wind was moving snow and upper layers stiffening, beginning to get cracking just as we left.

Weather

Snowing S-1 to S2 later in day.
Wind moving snow at 2800' also increasing throughout the day.

Snow surface

4" new becoming 6+ during the tour.

Snowpack

At 2100' a Handshear produced a failure between two layers of the Dec. 1 crust sandwich with moderate force. Dug a pit there. (See photo)
Height of snow 85 cm CT 10 and CT 13 RP at 50 on facets on top of the crust sandwich. ECTX.
Dug again at 2880'. (See snowpilot)
