Saw a large crown below what I believe ppl call peak 5000? Probably 1-2 feet thick and had propagated widely across a steep rocky face. On a northwest facing really steep slope with cliffs below and above, obviously unsupported slope (due to cliffs below) and thin snowpack in the area. Unlikely to be skier triggered bc who would ski that line, I think it was a natural on the buried persistent weak layer 1-2 ft down you've been mentioning. It was hard to tell how old it was but probably from last week sometime. Anyways, I'm sharing it because it was a notably wide propagation, something to keep in mind in this area. We also observed many small crowns from wind slabs (8" deep tops - 20-50 ft wide) in other rocky steep terrain that was northish facing. No recent activity on Sunday when we were out tho - this all looked fairly old.
Sunny with high clouds blowing in the afternoon.
Bad.
Alot thinner than Turnagain.
