Location: Tenderfoot, NW aspect, 2450ft.

Route & General Observations

AGC – Rec 2 course.
Toured a bit up Tenderfoot from lot at entrance to the campground.
Moderate winds, light snow and snow transport deterred us from plan “A”.
Opted to ski the W & NW aspects between 1600 & 2600ft and do some tests.

Weather & Snow Characteristics

Weather

Greeted at parking at 9:30am with forecasted light winds, light snow, overcast and 27 degrees F.
Changed to moderate winds and transporting snow by 11:30am until around 2pm.
Winds and snow eased in the later afternoon and cloud cover lightened as well.
Temps stayed steady through the day in the mid-upper 20’s.

Snow surface

Nice layer of soft 6-8cm of fun, skiable snow in our area between 1600 & 2600ft.
Above treeline, surface became wind blown as the day progressed.

Snowpack

Pits at 2450ft, NW aspect.
ECTN-24 @ 25cm depth.
PST of 55/100 Arr, down 100cm on depth hoar.
