Observation: Summit
Location: Tenderfoot
2nd day in a row we climbed the Tenderfoot Ridge trying to get to Hale Bop. Turned around due to time, then due to incoming storm. Good corn snow both days below 4k’. Temps at Summit Lake area have been getting lower at night than in Turnagain, making the snow much more supportable. Still skiable right to the car.

an older (1-3 days?) hard slab avy that then triggered a large wet slide (R2-D3?) was seen on a western aspect at about 3900' in the Tenderfoot Creek drainage (location is pin on the map). This gave us pause before exploring any slopes off the south side of Tenderfoot Ridge. We also experienced a significant (20ft diameter) WHUMPH while traversing out the flats of Tenderfoot Creek at about 2300'. The WHUMPH propagated uphill.
Loose wet slides everywhere, of course. Huge cornices hanging over many lines at 4.5k', and the cornices showed evidence of shedding blocks in the late afternoon in between our two trips, so they are active.
