Partly sunny, calm wind in the morning, then wind picked up to 10-15mph in the afternoon, temp was 33 degrees F at the road at 3pm
At treeline and above about 8-14" of new snow (variable, N and NW aspects scoured, S and SW aspects loaded). Small wind skin just off the ridge on S aspects, then dreamy powder! Crusty below treeline...
We dug a pit dug at 2,900', WSW face, on a 37 degree slope. Total snow depth was 100cm. ECTP21 SC Q1 80cm down on facets (likely Thanksgiving facet layer) above melt freeze crust. We identified the buried surface hoar layer ~40cm down, but this was not reactive in our tests.
