Observer Comments

No shooting cracks, whoomphing or recent avalanches (However, one group across the valley near the powerline experienced localized whoomphing in the skin track).

Weather

Overcast with light snow in AM, then no snow and slightly improved light in the afternoon. 28F at parking lot in AM.

Snow surface

10-15cm low density new snow.

Snowpack

ECTP18,26 sudden collapse on basal facets in shallow, wind scoured location (HS=70cm) but ECTN's in deeper locations adjacent as well as on west aspect at the same elevation. PST 45/100End on basal facets.

14mm surface hoar was noted at 2600' west aspect as well as lower elevations below treeline but was not reactive in stability tests or traveling tests.
