Observation: Summit
Location: Tenderfoot
Uptrack beginning at the old ski hill and up through the pine trees. Small (D1) natural dry loose avalanche observed mid-slope on south-facing incredibowls.
Obvious signs of instability
Weather
13 deg F, becoming colder as the day went on. No wind at road/below tree line. Light winds from the south at top of treeline. Winds actively transporting snow at ridge tops and summits--snow moving in the northeast direction off of the summit of Tri-tip
Snow surface
1.5-2 feet of fresh snow, little to no evidence of wind transport below treeline. West facing ridge showed obvious signs of wind scouring
Snowpack
West-facing pit, ~2300 feet. HS: 100 cm
CT12Q3 45 cm down at new snow old snow interface. Performed two additional taps and we were able to get the column to fail Q2 at 75 cm down (thanksgiving crust?)
