Skinned toward Taylor Pass starting around noon. Toward the back of the valley just before the steeper section, we hung left to avoid the creek and found a wind slab. There was a small whoomph at first, and after a pause and trying a second step, a loud whoomph that sounded like snow was collapsing on the slope above us, with the creek as a terrain trap just below us. Estimated ~35° slope.
We turned around and headed back to the parking lot, no red flags before or after the whoomph.
