Avalanche Details

Superbowl/Corner Pocket avalanche was seen from afar. It looks like it ran during the 12/18-19 storm. D3 size slide. The crown wrapped around the basin. We suspect the early December NSF or BSH was the weak layer due to the contiguous nature of the crown.

There was also a recent D1 on the Sunburst S face that looked to be cornice triggered (possibly from skiers/riders/dogs on the ridge).

The wind loading patterns on the S face of Sunburst showed top loading (cornices) and cross loading (pillowed and sculpted snow). There was a number of old wind slabs from the storm that were lower in the paths and looked to be from the cross loading.

We also observed a small (D1) wind slab in one of the N chutes on Magnum that looked like it was also from the storm. The crown was off the ridge lower into the track.
