Route & General Observations

Toured to Basketball via Taylor Creek to encounter lots of wind affected snow in Taylor Pass & strong wind gusts, maybe 30-40mph. Dropped into Gold Pan to discover more hard, wind affected snow. Toured into SuperBowl from Gold Pan and exited via the west side of Magnum.

Observer Comments

When entering Super Bowl I initiated at 50+ foot long shooting crack out from my ski. The crack was maybe 6 inches deep and 1.5 inches wide.

Partially cloudy, windy, 25-30 degree temps.

Snow surface

Taylor Pass- hard wind affected snow. Gold Pan- hard wind affected snow and a slight melt-freeze crust. SuperBowl- top portion was hard and wind affected but lower bowl contained mostly settled and protected powder.
