Route & General Observations

This large class 3 natural avalanche happened during the end of
the storm on 1-4 or 1-5. The weak layer at the top was confirmed
as buried surface hoar, with clean collapsing shears. ECTP 24 Q1.
Lower on the slope the avalanche stepped down into other weak
layers below and above the November 22 rain crust. Crown size 2-3
feet, but deeper lower on the slope. Estimated size as 600 feet
wide and dropping 1500 vertical feet.
