A widespread freezing rain crust formed the night of 3/4/2009 on
all aspects from sea level to the ridgetops. It was easy to see
today in the bright sunshine because it reflected like a mirror.
The wind event on 3/6 exposed this crust on windward aspects. On
leeward aspects this crust was buried up to a foot deep. Wind
slabs sheared easily on this slick surface.
