Route & General Observations

2200′ SW – CT17Q3(20cm) storm slab on MF crust
– CT23Q3(50cm) rounds on density change
– ECTX
– 2-3mm SH found buried @ 55cm, no failure nor reaction either in CT or ECT (see photo 1)

3100′ SSW – STH (30cm) 2-5mm SH, crystals were well formed but laying at an angle (see photo 2, poor
quality).

E winds have scoured the low/mid elevations of Taylor Creek. Past wind loading on lee terrain (below
ridgetops) was evident from previous storm and ‘settling’ on top of the surface hoar layer. Observations did
not inspire great confidence in the snowpack, even with lack of red flags and human triggered/natural
avalanches.
