South Avalanche was there when I arrived. Visible from parking lot.
Hand test, and ski pole cut below tree line with no effect, due to fresh snow.
On the ridge line (above tree line) there was approximately 1′ of fresh snow over a crust layer (3″ approx).
Isolated ski pole cut column, sliding the fresh snow on the crust as bed surface.
Also some whoompfing on the ridge when you skin up out of the already packed skin track. And if you jump in your standing spot.
The second avalanche I saw was on a North aspect. If you get really close to that avalanche and jump out of the skin track, you can hear some whoompfing.
Due these obvious signs I didn’t dig a snowpit, then snowboarded down.
