Route & General Observations

Toured up to the toe of the glide release where we dug 11 pits (be careful).

Investigated crown face of the glide release. Ice was found at the ground. The bed surface was tundra/heather. Ran ~1000′, Crown between 1-2m, ~100m across.

Overcast and -2.5*C in the morning. Wind and precip started around 1400h.

Snow surface

Powder, with patches of slightly wind affected snow.


CT30RP@30cm from surface on a buried surface hoar layer at 290 degrees at 1900 ft.
CT22Q2 ECTN both @ 31cm from surface on buried surface hoar. Same aspect and elevation.
Propagation Propensity is low, initiation potential is low, low structural weakness.
