Route & General Observations

Common up track from parking lot. Crust to 1600, nice light snow on top with about 1’ of ski penetration above 1600’. Westerly aspects skied best, slightly wind affected snow on more southerly slopes. Wind picked up by 2:00pm out of the SE. There was noticeable wind transport of higher ridges in the afternoon.

Blue to 1pm and then overcast.

Snow surface

Nice cold snow above 1600’ skied great!

Snowpack

Hand pit at 2600’. Probable surface hoar 30cm down on denser layer about 5cm thick. Hand pit took considerable force to break free and broken uneven. See pic of surface hoar layer.
