Route & General Observations

This pit was dug in a shallow area. Most of the southern aspect on the Sunburst approach is
more than twice as deep as this pit.
The facets near the ground are still very weak, loose, and relatively dry. The overlying slab is
getting strong and deep in most places.
The extended column test scored at ECTP 28 and 26, failing with full propagation on the 8th
tap from the shoulder in the first test, and the 6th tap from the shoulder in the second test.
Both tests caused a collapse of the weak layer (in red) which collapsed the entire width of the
column.
